Life after surgery: the keys to healing heart & mind (Auckland)
HOST: Kate Berridge, metabolic bariatric nurse specialist, Tiaki Whaiaro
WHEN: Saturday, March 29th, 10am-3pm
WHERE: Bell Road, Mangatawhiri (12 minutes from the Pokeno turnoff on SH2)
This new course, hosted by Tiaki Whaiaro's Kate Berridge, examines ways to heal your heart and mind after the honeymoon of losing weight is over.
The 6-12 months after surgery is a whirlwind of changes, most exciting and new.
But once the weight loss effects end, many people find they struggle with their new life. Old habits start to come back and there's a fear of returning to how you were before.
This course looks at the stages of transformation that will help with starting a new life after metabolic bariatric surgery:
- the common stages most people pass through after surgery
- what is holding you back
- ways to heal
This will include working in small groups with others taking part.
IMPORTANT: this is not about weight loss 'tips' or 'hacks' - it is focused on helping you to understand your mental and emotional relationship with yourself, food, and eating.
